This December we had another special event with tea and coffee. This was with Kris and was about idioms. Kris had already ‘let the cat out of the bag’ (told the secret) so all our students knew about the class. Like the Pub Quiz in November, it was a popular event and the students had a great time. They could learn not just the meanings of some popular idioms, but also when and how to use them. Sounds like ‘my cup of tea’ (something I like). Of course, English is difficult, and there are literally thousands of idioms you could learn. In the end, you have to ‘wake up and smell the coffee’ (face the truth) and just try to learn the most common and useful ones. And that is exactly what students could do in Kris’ lesson – with tea and coffee!

Coming up on January 19th is Mark’s special event – Topic Talk – where students get to practice talking about all sorts of topics – both ones they know a lot about and ones they wouldn’t usually talk about. With tea and coffee, of course!
