物語の登場人物や背景について、理解できるよう講師がしっかりサポートし、英語での理解力を深めます。１話が3〜4ページ程度なので気軽に読めます。読書を通じて、語彙力や読解力が自然に身につきます。

In our book club classes, we read very short stories, usually only a few pages long. Their length makes it possible to complete and discuss a different story within each two-hour class. Although short, these stories are often surprisingly rich and complex — writing a truly great short story is not easy. Through each story, students explore vocabulary, story structure, character development, themes, and the cultural or historical background behind the work, while also developing their reading comprehension and discussion skills.
ブッククラブクラスでは、通常数ページ程度の短編小説を読みます。短い作品なので、2時間のレッスンの中で毎回異なる物語を読み、じっくり話し合うことができます。短編小説は読みやすい長さでありながら、実はとても奥深く複雑です。本当に優れた短編を書くのは簡単ではありません。授業では、語彙だけでなく、物語の構成、登場人物、テーマ、作品の文化的・歴史的背景なども学びながら、読解力やディスカッション力を高めていきます。
ショートストーリーなので、その作品毎で楽しめます。色々な作者の英文の手法やくせが興味深いです。
